How we do it

Diverse solutions tailored to community need.

BAFT delivers community-led projects through a practical four-step process that combines engagement, planning, delivery and long-term sustainability.

1

Develop a steering committee

BAFT develops a steering committee with team members and community members through a series of engagement events. This helps secure community buy-in, identify whether a project is needed in the area, explore financial viability and examine the evidence required for a business plan.

2

Develop the project proposal

The next stage is the development of a project proposal, including site selection, a funding plan and clear terms of reference for the work ahead.

3

Deliver the project

The construction phase is based on the plans from the previous stage, with project management and construction forming the main aspects of delivery.

4

Complete and operate

The opening and running of buildings is the final stage in the journey, but it requires equal consideration during project development. Human resources, fit-out, systems, finance, opening arrangements, monitoring and impact should all be planned for successful completion.
